Upheavals 2

The door creaked open abit,the sound slicing through the stillness of the night prompting Karl to pause for a second then slowly took  his hand off the door knob,allowing the door to slide open on it's own,he peeped out,turning left and right and seeing the coast was clear,he stepped out and tiptoed towards the main restroom door,waiting to hear some noise or sounds of a struggle or something but he heard nothing,he stood there confused about what to do and without thinking,he opened the door.

Natalie whirled around startlingly,her eyes reddish and her  matted brunette hair, cascaded down her bare shoulders,she mustered a smile,apparently taking a lot of energy to do

"What's wrong mom? Why did you lock yourself in here crying?"

Natalie sniffed repeatedly,nervously taking off a lumped thread of damp hair off her face

"Am fine Karl...am fine,I just felt a little overwhelmed by all that has been going on and needed to let off steam..."

She said with a shrug,continuing

"...so I locked myself in here and decided to let the tears flow,did I disturb you?"

She asked,sniffing again,Karl gave her a suspicious look,he turned off the running tap obviously turned on to quell the sounds of crying and other noise that might have been erupting behind closed doors and pulled Natalie in for a hug,his military training instincts unconsciously coming into use,he coyly sniffed his mom whilst hugging her for signs of drug use but perceived none,he looked around the bathroom when he noticed two feet in the bath tub,its body hidden entirely behind the bath shield,he smiled knowingly,assuming it was Andre but on second thought,he decided to pull the shield aside just to confirm it was indeed Andre.


"Oh lord am sorry Karl!"

Andre apologised,looking so awkward and ashamed in his tiny brief,his semi-erect phallus bulging inside his brief,Karl awkwardly brushed his brow,apologised for interrupting and left the restroom, shutting the door quietly behind him,shaking his head with a smile,he went to his room.

By morning,It was a shock-faced Karl that came into the sitting room when he met Natalie and Andre rowing bitterly,Natalie wagging her fingers venomously at Andre's face while the latter continually threw his hands up in the air exasperatedly,Karl wiped his face,looking back to the restroom door and forth to the sitting room,totally not believing his eyes

He walked briskly towards them and weighed into the row by pushing Andre off Natalie and asking him to go to work,this action irked Andre who raised his fist up to deal Karl with a blow but on second thoughts, seeing Karl's strong build and with his political status,he dropped his hand,straightened his tie and left for his mayoral duties,Natalie sunk into her expensive seattee ,her well manicured fingers clasping her head in emotional agony,she let the tears flow,her body quivering with each sob,Karl quickly sat beside her,consoling her and asking how come just a few hours earlier,they were having a tear soaked,emotional make-out in the bath and by morning,were at each other's throat.

"Am not happy Karl...am not happy"

Natalie said amidst tears,her head raised to look at Karl,she sniffed

"we've been having issues,most of it stemming from the frustrations and pain of coping with Eddie's condition"

She sniffed again,wiping her tear with the back of her palm

"I also have a feeling Andre is cheating on me too"

Natalie said,bursting into tears

"Oh lord!"

Karl exclaimed,embracing his mom

"But how could you tell? You guys obviously have a sizzling sex life together"

Karl said,Natalie mustered a dry smile and explained what he saw earlier

"What you saw earlier this morning in the bathroom was Andre placating me with a quickie in the bath after hours of arguing in the bedroom and how I could tell he's cheating? See the rumours I happened upon on entertainment blogsite nicole bitchie this morning"

She said,handing Karl her ipad placed on the glass center table with the homepage of the entertainment gossip site Nicole bitchie on the browser with the screaming headline splayed before his eyes

"MAYOR ANDRE THE NEW TIGER?"

The body of the news linked Andre with a string of models,waitresses and a gangster's moll and was hoping those women come out and tell their stories,Karl was enraged

"OH JEEZ!"

He exclaimed,Natalie wiped her tears and putting up a brave faced persona,told Karl she was going to waddle through the storm and wasn't leaving her marriage,Karl wanted to speak up against the idea but on second thoughts relaxed again,she knew how much she suffered with our Dad's breaking up with her and eventual death and how insecure she is without a man...a rich man to be exact as she had no job of her own and was pretty much used to men catering to her financially,instead Karl resolved in his mind to track Andre and if the rumours were true,have a word with him if you know what I mean.


Later in the day,Natalie dressed up in a black designer power suit with sequined lapel along with matching fitted mini skirt ,she applied a generous dose of ox blood red lipstick on her lips,smacking her bilabials with each application,a dab of blush on her cheek bones, lash straightening maybelline mascara to liven up her eyes,her perma-tan skintone foundation applied all over her face,finishing the entire look with her six inch killer black christian loubouton peeptoe heels with its signature red sole and using a hot iron to straighten out her hair's natural curls,a fritz of her favourite cologne,ghost here and there and she was done

"What's the occasion?"

A naked Karl asked,save for a big towel wrapped around his loin with a bowl of cereal in hand,Natalie gave her son a look from her big wall mirror,smiled and said she was getting prepared to have a spot of retail therapy

"Dressed like that? Like you're going for a power-packed meeting with some blue chip execs"

Natalie laughed,turned around to face Karl and with a nod,explained

"This is america darling,this is hollywood and my husband is a public man and with his cheating scandal putting us in the news,the american public would be looking out for the first appearance of the scorned wife in public,now if I come out looking sad,drupy dressed and with unkept hair eating a bag of popcorn on the go,yes people would empathise with me but it would also be putting me out as a vulnerable and weak woman,on the flip side however,if I come out looking sharp,sexy and without a line of worry etched on my face,the american public would see,praise and support a strong woman,ready to stick with her man,indirectly sending a strong message to the whores to back off and beware or a strong,no nonsense lady ready to take her husband to the cleaners and if you've noticed,we have about eight paps waiting outside my house since eight am today"

Karl quickly went to confirm at the window by peeping out

"Woohoo! And this is someone's job?"

He said,shaking his head

"So get ready,we going out together"

Natalie called after Karl who was leaving her room

"I don't want some grumpy old man poking his camera lens at my face"

Karl echoed back

"But I need my leading man son! Think of your brother Eddie"

Karl sighed dejectedly at Eddie and changed into a nice tee-top and jeans with timberland boots and all set with Eddie,out they went

"Oh mrs loughlin,what do you have to say concerning your husband's cheating allegations?!l

One of the paparrazis asked as they buzzed around and taking snap shots of Natalie,Karl and Eddie in quick successions. Natalie,ever ready for her close up,flicked her hair in the wind and walked in measured steps,not wanting any picture to come out bad,Karl was bemused as was appalled at the attention and how quick Natalie turned her marital turmoil into an attention-seeking lady turning the world into her private catwalk, they entered the car as the  camera lenses kept flicking on rapidly,trying to get an up close shot of her face to get an image of her countenance which would be displayed on the front covers of newspapers and gossip magazines and blogs and an in-the-know Natalie kept raising a smile,perching Edward tenderly on her laps

"Oh mother! I don't seem to know who you are anymore,one moment you are all torn up sad and the next moment you are all kim-kardashian with the battery of cameramen"

Karl snickered,Natalie laughed and told him she had to do that because...

"...my darling,image is everything,so Andre messed up,yes,does that mean I should throw in the towel on my marriage? No way? Should I look all sad and gloomy and get pitied by people,no"

She said defensively,Karl shook his head sadly and asked if that's what she deserves,tolerating a man who continually cheats on her and hurts her all the time and making love to her to quell things

"Are you that so sexually starved and lack the strength to stand on your own two feet mom? You obviously couldn't take half of the shits my nigerian Mom has taken and damned Dad's family and she did it by the grace of God all by herself"

Karl clapped back,Natalie's face squeezed into a frown,spitting back

"Don't be disrespectful son,am your mother and after God,your allegiance should lie with me"


"Ofcourse mother,that's why between us now,am telling you my mind,the truth,for so long,I watched you feel so insecure without my Dad and it's repeating itself again with Andre"

Natalie sighed,fixing her gaze on Karl,she calmly said

"I know Andre has hurt me so so many times son,but which marriage is perfect? Huh? Men would always hurt women in a marriage hence,I would rather wipe my tears with my well manicured fingers,crying in my expensive jacuzzi than wiping my tears with chapped nails in some gritty house downtown married to some broke jackass...Andre's betrayal,the frustrations,rage and lust in our home has created a pulsating hole in the middle of our marriage,I know but I have to be brave enough to fill it with happiness and love and not bolt on to another marriage"

Karl sighed dejectedly,resolving in his mind to track Andre and expose him but telling Natalie all would be well as their driver turned into the parking lot of a mall and they went shopping.


Later that night,Karl browsed through the internet,saving images of Andre's alleged mistresses,searching them on google to get a profile and leads on where they work or live,etc,the next day,he set out on their trail without much success so he decided to rather,trail Andre instead on a night of rendezvous with the boys but since he and Natalie were going through a rough patch,he decided to reshuffle his modus operandi and goes straight from work to his mistresses or a flight out of town with them.

Karl meanwhile got in touch with his friends in california where he had lived before coming to nigeria and also in new york and his california friends gathered money to charter a chopper to new york,they were all so excited to see Karl and commented on how beautifully tanned he was,they chatted just about everything and took lots of pictures then he pulled them close and opened up about his plan of uncovering Andre's tryst with women


"My mom doesn't deserve this guys!"

Karl moaned and being guys with military background and well versed in all the places of debauchery in the city,they locked heads together and hatched a plan,meanwhile he kept calling us often and feeding us with updates on how his time in america is being spent,we missed him a great deal.



Karl and his friends got a car and drove to Andre's office and parked few meters away from the office block,waiting patiently,Andre had earlier told his wife he would be away for two days on a meeting and Natalie had called his office to confirm and it checked out but Karl had decided to trail him incase he had planned with a mistress to escort him throughout his short trip.


Andre was driven away to an air strip in the suburbs of the elitist upper west side of new york and entered a helicopter,waiting patiently,Karl quickly took out his camera waiting at the ready,after twenty minutes,a slim blonde bombshell sashayed towards the chopper holding two huge boxes

"Flick flick flick"

Karl took rapid shots,the chopper took off to an unknown destination and Karl pursued on the ground. After fourty-five minutes of hot chase,they got to a resort just before ohio and they landed at the lawned grass field,holding hands,Andre and his blonde mistress went into the resort while Karl and his friends sneaked into the resort grounds and from the transparent glass window,they saw Andre and his lover check into the resort and went up the building through a transparent lift.


Moments later,the lights in a room on the fourth floor came on and Andre and his lover waltzed in,obviously fired up for sex as clothes were quickly peeled off,to get a better view,Karl looked around and saw a tree which he quickly climbed and by then the blonde mistress was already opening the box she came with,obviously filled with sexual goodies and toys but what Karl saw shocked him to his marrow.


Karl felt dizzy,he was quite sure his eyes were deceiving him but nay! He was seeing right,his friends who were on physical ground kept whispering for him to quickly take the shots,his hands shaking,he felt weak but managed to conjured up some energy,picked up his camera to take the shots of the bizarre sight he was staring at.

Andre was coiled up by a large cobra and the mistress was laughing her head out,spanking his bottom and occasionally deep kissing him,Karl positioned his camera and took several shots,he climbed down and along his friends,quickly left the resort grounds,entered their car and left. Karl was quiet,he couldn't talk,his friends kept asking him to tell them what he saw,he simply handed them the camera and they flicked through the images,horrified at what they were saying,only one of Karl's buddies cheered happily

"That guy is dope man"

He said,his friends threw him a darting gaze and he quickly shut up

"Dude,this man is weird,having sex with a lady and a huge snake in bed with them? Lord,this is disgusting"

Robert,one of Karl's buddies said,Karl sighed,saying

"Obviously Andre has a craving for sleek blonde girls and a fetish for exotic snakes...that is the most sickening sexual fetish I've ever seen or heard off,snakes?"

"Trust me,his is quite ok,some people sleep with horses,eat shit,sleep with dogs,I mean,the list of weird sexual fetishes is endless"

Robert,another pal countered,they all argued whether he should sell it to the tabloids or simply show Natalie or both,Karl thought about it on the ride home and chose to show Natalie first before doing anything.

"Why would you do this Karl?"

Natalie chided when she saw the pictures,Karl was shocked,she was expecting her to express shock at Andre's conduct,Natalie continued

"Look Karl,if Andre is cheating on me,trust me I know,I could get a private investigator to get me enough pictures which I already have anyway,but am not ready to pull the plug on this marriage"

"So you knew of his weird sexual fetish involving exotic snakes?"

Karl asked,Natalie sighed and asked him to go to his room,Karl was aghast at what his mom had turned into,he stepped out of the house to cool off and called up his ex-girlfriend ruby,she was so excited to learn Karl was in the states and even more excited because she has been in new york also,taking up a minor role in a broadway show,Karl's face lit up with happiness and gratitude,he called up a cab company to send a cab to come pick him up and when the cab arrived,he entered and left despite Natalie calling after him to inquire where he was going,he ended Natalie's calls and the cab zoomed off into the darkness

The story hasn't ended,find out in the concluding part, Andre's reaction to the pictures,Karl and ruby's meeting and Natalie's decision
