MAJ AND HAMZ TAKE LAGOS! Girl power



FOREWARD- In commemoration of the international women's day...treat every woman right

I think God made a woman to be strong and not to be trampled under the feet of men. I've always felt this way because my mother was a very strong woman, without a husband,There was a time when men thought it was sexy to have a housewife waiting for him to come home from work in her slippers, but in modern society, I think an independent woman is even more sexy. Beyonce succinctly puts it in her song,"independent women", the lyrics go thus "Tell me how you feel about this...who would i want if i wanna  live,i worked hard and sacrificed to get what i get,Ladies, it ain't easy being independent, Question: How'd you like this knowledge that I've  brought, Bragging on that cash that he gave you is to front,If you're gonna brag, make sure it's your money you flaunt, Depend on no one else to give you what you want". 


I believe it's ok for women to use their feminine wiles to get
  What they want,women truly run the
    World because lying  in every true woman's heart is a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity,If a woman is sufficiently ambitious, determined and gifted - there is practically nothing she can't do

I love music a lot and so many women in music  have inspired me through time,aside beyonce who is apparently a feminist through her songs,a lot of other women in music have touched me with their arts,their body and their passion and strive through their lyrics to see a world where women are emancipated and free to go for their dreams with equal opportunities with their male counterparts.

I have a passion for writing and feminists have mostly channeled their fights,hopes and aspiration for the equality of the sexes by the beautiful art of pushing pen,most especially,black,female writers and top on my list is nigeria's chimamanda adichie.


I really am quite short of words writing this piece but a speech by feminist sojourner truth quite encapsulate all am trying to say,women's rights are human right,let us all respect,adore and treat our womenfolk right,below is an excerpt of the speech by sojourner truth-

That man over there says that women need to be helped into carriages, and lifted over ditches, and to have the best place everywhere. Nobody ever helps me into carriages, or over mud-puddles, or gives me any best place! And ain't I a woman? Look at me! Look at my arm! I have ploughed and planted, and gathered into barns, and no man could head me! And ain't I a woman? I could work as much and eat as much as a man - when I could get it - and bear the lash as well! And ain't I a woman? I have borne thirteen children, and seen most all sold off to slavery, and when I cried out with my mother's grief, none but Jesus heard me! And ain't I a woman?

Then they talk about this thing in the head; what's this they call it? [member of audience whispers, "intellect"] That's it, honey. What's that got to do with women's rights or negroes' rights? If my cup won't hold but a pint, and yours holds a quart, wouldn't you be mean not to let me have my little half measure full?

Then that little man in black there, he says women can't have as much rights as men, 'cause Christ wasn't a woman! Where did your Christ come from? Where did your Christ come from?
From God and a woman!
Man had nothing to do with Him.

If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone, these women together ought to be able to turn it back , and get it right side up again!
And now they is asking to do it, the men better let them.

  2. ok,maybe it didn't blow us away but i saw how you tried to pen it down in a poetic way looking like the silhouette of a woman and also using the picture of a female silhouette to drive home your point,thumbs up but the international women's day was..weeks..or months back,you lagging behind oo,ah,please get back to work and fast

  4. what led to the reflective mood on women,you didn't say exactly how your mom inspired you,how beyonce inspired you,just a mumble-jumble of several things you wanted to say but couldn't find the exact words...i suspect hamz has a hand in this,distracting you i guess,anyway we get your point,quite nice and love the poetic formating

Atleast you did quite a job trying to show your respect and admiration for women and spur them to go out there and achieve their dreams and this piece shows you read widely and by extension goes to prove studying about women is a lifelong venture,lol,nice piece maj,so,what's next on the maj and hamz take lagos?
